Venice - Monday 29th June, 2015 - Crafted with innovative and functional materials, Riva Lounge, the new elegant and stylish terrace by the Riva elegance, overlooks the Grand Canal and represents the perfect gathering place with a breathtaking view on Santa Maria della Salute Cathedral.
The design of Riva Lounge recalls the elegant Dolce Vita-style wooden decks of the Italian yachts in the 1950s, with polished wood and gleaming stainless steel details.
The terrace is the perfect outside extension of the splendid Bar Longhi, the historical and charming social hub of The Gritti Palace, featuring some of the best cocktails in Venice as well as a Venetian Cicchetti experience.
The Lounge is furnished by the Aquarama chairs, inspired by the mythical Riva powerboat of the ‘60s, symbol of the italian yard.
The seats’ design, the materials used, and every little detail, all reproduce the craftsmanship found both in every mahogany hull and in the current Riva production.
The chairs’ back resembles the bow of a Riva, completely chrome plated and with the characteristic three longitudinal sections, are characterized by a lucid finish blue painting.
For the official Riva Lounge opening, the Bar Longhi bartender Cristiano Luciani created a special cocktail, named after the prestigious partner: the Riva Cocktail is a perfect mix of international glamour and indigenous invention. A fresh combination of White Rhum, Grapefruit, Orgeat syrup and Orange Bitter to be sipped while enjoying the unparalleled view on the Canal Grande.
The Riva Lounge terrace is open daily from May to October, from 11 am to 1 am.
