Doha, 28th of March, 2016 – FSD-Ferretti Security & Defence, Ferretti Group’s division dedicated to Defence, is participating at Dimdex, one of the most important international fairs dedicated to Defence. Its fifth edition will take place in Doha, Qatar, from the 29th until the 31st of March, 2016. On a global scale, Dimdex is a point of reference in the Defence, hosting more than 200 companies from over 30 countries, and 80 official delegations.
FSD - Ferretti Security & Defence was born in February, 2016. The division’s activities include the planning, design, development and construction of a new range of advanced naval platforms. The profile and characteristics of the platforms will satisfy any requirement and need in the fields of security, surveillance and defence in international, national and coastline waters.
In occasion of Dimdex, FSD presents the results of its investment in product research and development, two new vessels’ projects. In order to expand in the Defence sector, the Group’s objective is to satisfy the growing demand for innovative vessels. Thus, FSD has developed advanced technological characteristics and features to be implemented in any strategic scenario.
The first “Fast Patrol Vessel”, FSD 195 is already in construction, and is going to be officially launched during this summer. It is a state of the art ship with high performance features, 20 meters long and able to exceed the speed of 50 knots for over 400 miles. The other platform in the development phase is the FSD 350. Its length is 35,4 meters, moves past 45 knots and can host 20 service persons besides the crew of 4 persons. Moreover, its CODAG version (COmbined Diesel And Gas) is able to exceed the speed of 55 knots.
